This is an fairly easy walk (2 to 3 hours round trip). Park at the High Down Chalk pits NT carpark. It can become quite crowded over peak periods.

Only challenging part of this walk is the short hike up to the Tennyson monument, a tribuate to the Victorian poet laureate. It is one of the highest point on the western wight with spectacular views of the island. Then take a stroll downland towards the iconic Needles where you can picnic at and explore the 19th-century fort.
