Hersey Nature Reserve, Seaview Duver forms part of the Ryde Sands and Wootton Creek. The reserve consists of wetlands, a circular path, bird hide, and a footpath that leads to Duver Road. Hersey Nature Reserve and Seaview Duver beach have SPA status (Special Protection Area - see SPA Site Code: UK9011061). Its used regularly for breeding by British bird species (Mediterranean gull, Sandwich tern, Roseate tern, Common tern) and by migrating species (Dark-bellied brent goose, Eurasian teal, Ringed plover, Black-tailed godwit).

Bird enthusiasts can enjoy the hide during daylight hours. Be aware that opening times are not set in stone and can vary. But there are several secluded areas close to the water's edge to observe and setup your equipment.

Currently a bird sanctuary amongst suburbia, something to be treasured and protected from any further developments in the area.
