The Isle of Wight Garlic Festival is held annually on the third weekend in August at The Fighting Cocks Crossroads, Newchurch. It hosts star chefs, musicians, local charities and businesses. Its an event that the whole family can enjoy be it listening to live music, participating in children’s activities or watching free entertainment. Of course garlic is also everywhere, to eat, drink and buy.

This year (2019) was no exception. There were loads of local businesses selling their produce. Lots to eat and drink. We really enjoyed the 'Bird of Prey' demonstration hosted by Haven Falconry, Isle of Wight. The rhubarb and mango cider was a somewhat sweet experience. Not too sure the entrance fee was worth the entertainment. Seemed to be an overkill of fete-like stores with very little entertainment on show. Maybe we getting too old but definitely something for the whole family.
